Buyer protection
How ReHome protects buyers
ReHome Market helps buyers purchase pre-owned home goods more safely by keeping payment inside the ReHome process, reviewing listings before they go public, and giving buyers a structured dispute process.
What Buyer Protection means
A listing marked “ReHome Checked” means that ReHome reviewed the seller’s submitted listing information, photos, and/or proof before allowing the listing to appear publicly.
ReHome Checked does not mean the item is brand new, physically inspected by ReHome, or guaranteed to have no defects.
ReHome Market is a managed marketplace. ReHome does not manufacture the goods and does not automatically own the goods listed by sellers.
Pay only through ReHome
Buyers must pay through the ReHome Market payment process. Do not pay a seller directly by cash, EFT, WhatsApp arrangement, private bank transfer, or any method outside ReHome.
If you pay a seller directly, ReHome may not be able to protect the transaction, confirm the payment, assist with a refund, or hold seller payout.
Communication and handover
After payment is confirmed, ReHome will coordinate the next transaction step. Buyer and seller contact details are not shown to each other. ReHome coordinates transaction communication, handover, payment support, and disputes.
Communication about payment, handover, collection, delivery, complaints, and disputes must go through ReHome support/admin.
Inspection window
When you receive an item, inspect it as soon as reasonably possible.
If the item is materially different from the approved listing, not received, unsafe, fake, or seriously misrepresented, you must open a dispute within the inspection window shown on your order.
If you confirm receipt and do not open a dispute within the inspection window, ReHome may complete the order and release the seller payout.
When Buyer Protection may not apply
- The buyer paid the seller directly outside ReHome.
- The buyer collected or accepted the item but did not raise a dispute within the inspection window.
- The issue was clearly disclosed in the listing.
- The issue is normal wear and tear for a pre-owned item.
- The buyer changed their mind after payment or collection.
- The buyer damaged the item after receiving it.
- The buyer cannot provide reasonable evidence for the dispute.
How disputes are reviewed
ReHome reviews disputes using listing information, photos, payment records, seller proof, buyer evidence, admin notes, and any other relevant information.
ReHome may approve a refund, release payout to the seller, request more evidence, or make another reasonable decision based on the circumstances.
